Compass Plus: terms of sale
Last updated: 21 October 2026
Who we are
Compass Plus is sold by Chris, trading as Dear Green Compass, Glasgow, Scotland, UK. Contact: [email protected].
What you're buying
Compass Plus is a paid email subscription that adds to the free Dear Green Compass newsletter:
- a personalised Thursday edition with picks matched to your interests and area
- a Monday “Week Ahead” edition
- rain-day alerts (no more than two a week)
- early on-sale alerts for bigger Glasgow events, using dates confirmed by the venue or promoter
- a “Your trip” itinerary email for visitors, about five days before arrival
- our digital guides and a members archive of past Plus editions
Compass Plus is newly launched: personalised editions begin with the next issue after you join, and the archive and guides grow over time.
The Trip Pass is a one-off purchase giving Plus editions, alerts, the trip itinerary and the visitor PDFs for up to 14 days around one trip.
Prices
- Compass Plus monthly: £4 a month
- Compass Plus yearly: £40 a year
- Founding offer: with code FOUNDING, the first year of the yearly plan is £30. It then renews at £40 a year unless you cancel.
- Trip Pass: £8, one-off
Prices include any VAT that applies. Checkout is provided by Kit, and payments are processed by Stripe.
Renewal and reminders
Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically until you cancel. We'll email you before a yearly plan renews, and at least every six months on a monthly plan, telling you the price and how to cancel. The Trip Pass doesn't renew.
Cancelling
You can cancel a subscription at any time, online, from the billing link in any Compass Plus email, or by emailing [email protected]. Cancelling stops future payments; you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. Unsubscribing from all our emails also cancels your Plus subscription.
Your 14-day right to cancel
If you're a UK consumer, you normally have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of buying. Because Compass Plus and the Trip Pass are digital content, at checkout we ask you to agree to the following: “By buying, you ask us to start supplying Compass Plus (or your Trip Pass) straight away, and you acknowledge that you lose your legal right to cancel once supply of the digital content has begun.”
Whatever happens with that right, we offer a voluntary 14-day no-quibble refund of your first payment: see our refund and cancellation policy. This doesn't affect your statutory rights.
Accuracy
We check every listing against official sources, but events, times, prices and transport change. Always confirm with the venue or operator before you travel. We're not responsible for changes made by third parties. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
Price changes
We'll give at least 30 days' notice by email of any price change, which applies from your next renewal after the notice. You can cancel before it takes effect.
Ending or changing the service
If we stop Compass Plus, we'll refund the unused part of any yearly plan or Trip Pass.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland. You can also rely on the consumer protections of the UK country where you live.
