Getting to Hampden Park

Scotland's national stadium is on the south side, with no Subway stop nearby. Take the train from Glasgow Central to Mount Florida or King's Park, and don't plan to drive on an event day.

Get Glasgow's week ahead every Thursday

Free at 7am every Thursday: what's on, an honest forecast, a Rain Plan and how to get home. New subscribers get the Rainy-Day Glasgow PDF.

Stations
Mount Florida and King's Park. Trains run from Glasgow Central.
Walk to the stadium
Hampden says about five minutes from either. The Scottish Football Museum (inside the stadium) says about 10 minutes from Mount Florida and 15 from King's Park. Mount Florida is the nearer of the two.

Getting home

Expect queues at Mount Florida and King's Park after big events. Check ScotRail for engineering works and last trains before you go. If you're heading on by Subway, remember it closes at 6.12pm on Sundays (see getting home from the Hydro for times).

Still being checked, so not listed yet: walking time from the city centre, train journey time, step-free access at the stations and non-event-day parking. We only add them once two sources agree.

Other venues: stadium & arena guide · Celtic Park · Ibrox · OVO Hydro.

Want it planned for you? Compass Plus adds personalised picks, a Monday Week Ahead edition and rain-day alerts: £4/month, £40/year or an £8 Trip Pass for a visit. See what you get.
