Getting there

Train from Glasgow Central to Pollokshaws West (about 10 minutes) for Pollok Country Park and the Burrell Collection, or to Queen's Park or Shawlands. Shields Road is the nearest Subway stop to the Southside.

Our picks

🌧️ If it rains

The Burrell Collection is a free museum for a whole wet afternoon, with cafés inside.

👨‍👩‍👧 With kids

The Burrell's free shuttle saves small legs the walk across Pollok Park. The Queen's Park glasshouse is a free warm stop.

⚑ Flagged or left out: the Queen's Park glasshouse opening hours (Friends of Queen's Park only) and individual Southside cafés (we didn't find two sources that agreed on any single one), so we haven't named them.
